Who We Are
Rae & Heath Architects is a joint venture between San Francisco-based architects Megan Rae Hannon and Austin Heath Riley. The two friends and colleagues formed the firm in 2021 out of a desire to take a truly collaborative approach to the design and implementation of each of the firm’s projects.
The Principals both developed their skills and honed their talents as team members of well-respected San Francisco architecture stalwarts. Rae & Heath Architects is the next evolution of their accomplished careers.
Together, the duo approaches all their projects based on four key principles:
1) That great design is accessible to everyone, even on a tight budget
2) The best design is highly responsive to the needs of the client
3) That clients should feel empowered throughout the design process
4) That everyone has fun along the way!

Megan Rae Hannon
Principal
Megan has garnered over 16 years of experience in architecture in the Bay Area, with a specialization in guiding clients through the complexities of the San Francisco permitting process.
Her portfolio includes projects of all types and scales including restaurants, office spaces, hotels, multi-family housing, and single-family residential.
Megan founded her own practice in 2019 with the intention to deliver a different type of architecture: one that is free of ego, client-driven and approachable. Those guiding principles endure with Rae & Heath Architects.

Austin Heath Riley
Principal
Austin’s California architecture experience began in 2005 in San Francisco, where he has since gained a depth of specific knowledge pertaining to hospitality and high-end single-family residential design through numerous projects located in the Bay Area.
Complimentary to Megan’s city-based specialization, Austin’s residential experience for more than a decade has been with estate properties located in highly sought-after Peninsula locales.
Austin has a work ethic that can be directly attributed to his Midwestern background, with an architectural education from The University of Kansas and the early years of his career in Omaha, Nebraska.
